Getting inventory ready to ship means keeping track of product quantities, buy costs, box details, and labels. With AI Operator, you can work through your InventoryLab shipment using prompts, from creating a batch to purchasing shipping and requesting your labels.

In this guide, you'll learn:

  • What product and packing information to prepare before getting started.
  • Where to review shipment details and placement options before purchasing shipping.
  • Which prompts to use to create your batch and move through Box It and Ship It.
  • How to request product, box, and shipping labels at the right stages of your shipment workflow.

Prepare your shipment details

Start by gathering the information you’ll use throughout the workflow. Having it together gives you a clear reference as you create your batch and provide packing details.

The example below follows the small parcel delivery (SPD) workflow for Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). It uses three products, their unit quantities and buy costs, and a separate box breakdown for each product.

Use your own shipment details. The product identifiers, quantities, costs, and packing details in the guide are examples. Replace them with your own shipment information before sending a prompt.

Keep your product and box quantities consistent. For example, if you’re sending 50 units of a product in five boxes, each containing 10 units, both parts of the conversation should reflect that same total.

Build your shipment, one prompt at a time

Use the following prompts in sequence, reviewing each response before moving to the next step. This keeps the conversation focused on the shipment you’re building and gives you a chance to catch incorrect details along the way.

1. Create your batch and request product labels

Begin with the type of batch you want to create, followed by your products, quantities, and buy costs. The first prompt also requests your FNSKU labels, the product labels used to identify your inventory for Amazon fulfillment.
01 Prompt to use: AI Operator + InventoryLab

Starting with product details?

Create an SPD FBA batch with these asins:
B00QLFPJIQ 50 units $5 cogs,
B07TGFJ1N8 40 units $10 cogs,
B07D1DVD97 30 units $15 cogs
Give me the fnsku labels.

Only need your labels?

For your latest batch.

  • PRO TIP: Review the batch details against the products you plan to send. Check each product’s quantity and buy cost before continuing to packing.

2. Provide your box details

Next, move to Box It and explain how your products are packed. Keep each product’s box information on its own line so you can easily compare it with the batch.
02 Prompt to use: AI Operator + InventoryLab
Go to Box It. These are my box details:

B00QLFPJIQ: 5 boxes, 10 units in each box, 12 × 12 × 12, 10 lb per box.

B07TGFJ1N8: 4 boxes, 10 units in each box, 12 × 12 × 12, 10 lb per box.

B07D1DVD97: 3 boxes, 10 units in each box, 12 × 12 × 12, 10 lb per box.

Replace the example ASINs and packing details with your own. Include the measurement unit for your box dimensions.

In this example, the box breakdown accounts for all 120 units across 12 boxes. Check that your box counts, quantities, dimensions, and weights match your actual packing.
  • PRO TIP: Don’t leave measurement units out. When entering box dimensions, specify whether you’re using inches or centimeters rather than providing numbers alone. Include the unit for box weight, too, so your packing details are clear before you continue.

3. Review your placement options

Once you’ve provided your box details, move to Ship It and request Amazon’s placement options for the shipment. Review the returned options before choosing how to proceed.
03 Prompt to use: AI Operator + InventoryLab
Go to Ship It. Give me the Amazon placement options.

Keep this as a separate step from purchasing shipping. You can review the options first, then send your choice in the next prompt.

  • PRO TIP: Keep this as a separate step from purchasing shipping. You can review the options first, then send your choice in the next prompt.

4. Choose an option and purchase shipping

This example uses the cheapest option. Use this prompt when that’s the choice you want to make after reviewing the options.
04 Prompt to use: AI Operator + InventoryLab
Let’s choose the cheapest option and purchase shipping.

This prompt requests a shipping purchase. Review the placement option and cost before sending.

  • PRO TIP: This prompt requests a shipping purchase. Review the option and cost before sending it, and check AI Operator’s response for the purchase result or any further information it needs.

 5. Request your box and shipping labels

After purchasing shipping, request the labels for the shipment. This is a separate request from the product labels you asked for when creating the batch.
05 Prompt to use: AI Operator + InventoryLab
Give me the box labels and shipping labels.

  • PRO TIP: Check that the returned labels correspond to the shipment you’ve just worked through. Keep the product labels, box labels, and shipping labels clearly identified as you prepare your inventory.
That’s it! You’ve worked through your shipment with AI Operator, from creating your InventoryLab batch and providing box details to purchasing shipping and requesting your labels.
